Composting

we are going to start composting in the next month or so.  we have always wanted to but have just never gotten around to it.  i have looked at plans for compost bins because we want to build our own.  does anyone have any suggestions?  has anyone built their own?  we bought a new house last spring and have a huge yard (shady) with absolutely no landscaping and horrible grass so we are beginning from scratch.  we are going to have to wait until next year to garden but i would like to begin composting immediately.   i am very new to this so i would love any suggestions.  funny though because my mom always had a nice big compost pile in our backyard.

    hey jen - next month im hoping to do a garden club meeting about composting. it seems a lot of people have a lot of questions about it

    My parents built their own composting bin and it was extremely easy. It is open on top and they used chicken wire to make the bin walls, and prop it up with 2x4
